Peer-to-peer (P2P) transaction services leverage community environments, matching peers within that environment for the mutual satisfaction of their requirements.  They enable value creation via the direct interaction between peers.

This is not a new model of business as, historically, village marketplaces operated in this way: farmers brought produce to the village marketplace to exchange their wares for other items provided by the members of the community, by mutual agreement.

Digital developments have enabled this model to transition to the online world, with communities emerging around platforms that enable their interaction (e.g. Skype, eBay).  This report examines what is driving this trend and identifies key learnings for operators based on current activities in the P2P transaction service category.

As markets become increasingly saturated, MNOs need to focus on customer retention and loyalty.  These depend on an organisation’s ability to satisfy customer needs and meet expectations in all its dealings with the base (i.e. the Customer Experience - or CX). The Net Promoter Score (NPS) has become a popular metric to gauge customer loyalty.  Higher scores have been shown to correlate with positive business results.   It has also been adopted as a measure of CX due to the link ...
